Klastech continuous wave dpss lasers

KLASTECH have developed and manufacture an entirely new and completely revolutionary range of CW Diode Pumped Solid State lasers (DPSS lasers) which provide for a step change in 2nd harmonic conversion efficiency.

Our range includes the Crescendo® ruby laser, the world´s first and only true CW ruby laser, the Verve® UV laser, an ultra compact CW 266nm laser and the 442nm Concerto® blue laser, a direct DPSS alternative to the He-Cd gas laser.

Our 1064nm Senza® Infra red laser, 532nm Scherzo® and Scherzo® LP green lasers, high power laser, at 532nm Symphony® green laser and 488nm Blue Note® lasers complete our comprehensive portfolio.

At KLASTECH we pride ourselves in manufacturing lasers to the very highest quality delivering compact DPSS lasers for the most demanding applications. Our laser technology inherently delivers lasers that produce Pitch Perfect, ultra quiet, single frequency laser light with diffraction limited beam profiles enabling analytical instrument designers and researchers alike to surpass their highest expectations.

The advantages of our laser technology are not just to be found in the details of our data sheets. We understand that in today’s highly competitive commercial world it is not enough just to offer the best technical laser solution. Our revolutionary new laser technology enables the KLASTECH laser company to benefit from much greater flexibility in component selection and significantly shortened production cycles, which means we don’t have to ask our customers to pay a premium price for the very finest laser technology.

KLASTECH'S laser technology delivers other advantages too:

    * Immune from green noise problems
    * Inherently single frequency
    * Extremely thermally, mechanically and optically stable
    * Easier to manufacture

This last point means that for the first time a laser manufacturer can truly deliver lasers with stunning performance at affordable price points.

Concerto® - 442nm Blue Laser

Up until recently 442nm blue laser generation was exclusively provided by large, costly and cumbersome He-Cd gas lasers. These lasers provide good quality, low noise, single frequency laser light but are difficult to maintain and present considerable challenges in their design to maintain laser beam pointing stability.

Some of the market for lower power bio-fluorescence applications has since migrated to the new diode pumped laser at 445nm but this offers its own issues having no usable coherence length, being relatively noisy and having a poor M² figure.

All these issues have now been solved with the launch* of the world´s only 442nm Blue DPSS laser.

This unit draws on the experience KLASTECH have of designing compact, highly stable DPSS lasers and utilizes the KLASTECH proprietary designs to deliver up 100mW of power. Naturally the laser is low noise, conductively cooled and inherently produces single frequency performance (<1MHz line width).

Applications include holography, spectroscopy, thin film analysis, flow visualisation and optical data storage.

KLASTECH´s revolutionary laser technology continues to set new standards in innovation and performance. The Concerto®: “Disruptive He-Cd replacement technology from KLASTECH”

Crescendo® - 694.3nm Ruby Laser

The Ruby laser heralded the advent of the photonics industry when the first 694.3nm laser light was emitted in pulses back in the 1960s. For many years thereafter physicists and engineers have tried to produce a commercially viable CW version but to no avail.

Now, thanks to the ultra high efficiency of KLASTECH’s patented intra-cavity impedance matching technology the world’s first CW DPSS Ruby laser has arrived.

In line with all other KLASTECH lasers the Crescendo® offers Pitch Perfect single frequency performance, ultra-low noise running, diffraction limited beam quality and rock solid beam pointing stability.

Currently available at 100mW, higher powers are in the pipeline. Applications include medical diagnostics and hematology. The Crescendo®: “The World’s first CW DPSS ruby laser”.

Laserex laser applications

 Industrial Safety Systems:

Laserex Technologies’s custom solution team worked with one of the worldwide leaders in industrial equipment safety systems to develop the laser and receiver technology used in Press Brake Machine Systems.
The system uses a flat band of laser light that continuously covers the zone below the punch. Its unique optical design detects obstructions as small as 4mm in width, whilst being tolerant to vibrations. This allows the operator to work without the encumbrances of conventional curtain guarding, close to the work area, in total safety.

Laser Light Shows:

The Laserex Technologies range of green laser modules were recently used in a major visual display in Canberra, Australia. The display is planned to operate every night for 15 years.

“Twenty green lasers were used to transform an aging building into a creative artwork know as 'Laserwrap.' Perth artists Richie Kuhaupt and Geoffrey Drake-Brockman used a gently shifting grid of laser light to make the building appear as if it is subtly loosened from its moorings."
For more information please see: www.drake-brockman.com.au
Green laser modules are ideal for visual displays due to the human eyes natural response being more sensitive to the colour green than red.

The numerous laser patterns and beam shapes available make it possible for breathtaking visual displays to be achieved. This has become a popular method used by corporations in eye catching promotional events.

Positioning:

The Laserex Technologies standard laser diode modules with line generating optics are used by many of the world’s leading saw mill manufacturers.

The line generators are used to produce a high quality Gaussian or uniform intensity laser line. The line is easily visible by operators in most lighting conditions, allowing timber to be positioned for cutting or grading.

Line generators are commonly used for material inspection. A sheet of material e.g. aluminum, steel, plastic etc can be scanned using a laser line. By viewing the reflected line an observer or an optical receiver can detect if there are any imperfections in the material.

Laserex Technologies also supplies a range of suitable mounting systems, making it easy to mount the laser and line generator in convenient locations.

Alignment:

Laserex Technologies’s laser diode modules are used in wheel alignment applications where the x-y adjustment mechanism of the LDM-2 laser module allows the operator to efficiently and accurately align wheels of motor vehicles.

The LDM-2 is a popular choice for alignment applications which require the laser beam to be precisely aligned to its mechanical housing or to a reference point.

Robotics:

The Laserex Technologies LDM-1 micro laser diode module is ideal for use in robotic applications where a very compact laser module is required.

The micro module is PCB mountable and has the option of either a fixed or variable focal length.

Research and Development:

Laserex Technologies’s laser diode modules are used in many R&D projects. Laser diodes are now a viable alternative HeNe lasers.

Some of the advantages of using laser diodes instead of HeNe are lower operating temperature and power consumption, as well as the lower cost.
