Imago and AMX have agreed an exclusive deal to work together on the launch of a video conferencing control system. The distribution deal follows AMX's development of a product designed to fully configure and control video conferencing systems without the need for specialist programming, or multiple remotes.

Users will be able to plug in the device, and use its in-built touch-screen to answer a few questions relating to the video conferencing system, size and type of display and method of connection. It will then automatically program itself to deliver a configured control system, enabling users to make video calls, control camera selection, and access the systems directory from the touch-panel.
'Traditionally, control of a video conferencing solution has required the use of at least two remotes, one for the a-v and one for the codec,' says Ian Vickerage, MD of Imago. 'AMX's video conferencing control system enables customers to manage all control through one device with an easy-to-use touch-screen and no complicated programming. It will make the customer's VC experience much more intuitive, make telepresence more accessible, and transform the sales process for resellers by simplifying demonstrations.'
The AMX video conferencing control system will be available in a range of models designed to suit different video conferencing installations, and customer specifications for touch-screen panels. It will accept a laptop PC feed and both wired and wireless network connections, and can be configured to provide control of additional applications such as a DVD player on the same touch screen.
